In 1949, five people fishing on the Rogue River near Gold Beach, Oregon watched an object hover above the water. The Air Force sent investigators. They could not explain it away. The file was closed as Case X and has stayed unexplained ever since.

Decades later, in the town of Rogue River, Oregon, outdoor photographer Mitch Wilde watches his best friend take an arrow to the chest. The wound is real. The arrow dissolves inside him and leaves nothing behind.

More strange things follow. Mitch's neighbor, a man who has spent years collecting evidence nobody wanted, shows him what he's been keeping.

Then Mitch photographs something coming out of a nearby lake.
